Market Driven Vocational Training II

Accord Worldwide contributed to the Socio-Economic recovery of Afghanistan through the provision of a national skills development and vocational education and training system, which is responsive to labour market needs and provided Afghan women with the knowledge and skills.

Through this project a total of 500 poor women were enrolled to the training courses and successfully certified for the earned skills. Literacy was an integrated part of the training courses. It was considered as to be the most relevant to the subject of skill training and as a basic level to enable the trainees manage their business/job.

Skills taught in this project included: Carpet weaving, Gleem Weaving, Namad Weaving, Handicrafts, Wool Processing and Dyeing, Embroidery, Computer and English, Office Management, Cooking, Tailoring, Dairy Products, Poultry, Animal Husbandry and Green Houses. All trainee women were provided by relevant toolkits to practice the earned skill.
